SIN

“…the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus one Lord.” Romans 6:23

Jesus died to save us from sin. He took all sin unto Himself and suffered and died. He was humiliated, spat upon, ridiculed, beaten. His skin lay broken open on His body, a crown of thorns—as an act of humiliation—was thrust upon His head and blood ran down His face; He was nailed to a wooden cross that He was made to carry through the crowded streets filled with jeering crowds; that cross was raised atop a place called Golgotha (or the place of the skull) where all could see. Even so, some of His last words were “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

WHAT A SAVIOR!

Now, the sin that He died for—went through all that torture for—was the inherent sin that is within us. We call it “being ourselves” or “it is my right” or “this is what I want to do.”

There is a spiritual battle within each of us. Yes we do have a choice which one to follow, but one leads to death—eternal death—being separated from God forevermore—and the other leads to Eternal Life at peace with Jesus Christ our Savior.

What you know of Jesus’ suffering on His way to the cross, will be your suffering if you choose not to follow Jesus. Yes, you and I will sin, but we have the ability to confess our sins to Jesus and be forgiven on a daily basis. He forgives our past, present, and future sin, but we have to acknowledge, confess, repent our wrongdoings. Jesus is true to His word…HE WILL FORGIVE!

Does that mean we will not suffer—absolutely not! Suffering is our cleansing. Without heat the water will not boil. Without trouble and strife we will become just a clump of clay with no form.

Let us take a step closer to our Eternal Home in heaven today and confess our sins to Almighty God and know when we do, we are loved and forgiven.

Heavenly Father, thank you that the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ cleanses me from ALL sin. In Jesus’ name, I pray.

Amen
